I'm Heather. I live in Seattle and I work in the Multi Family Housing Industry with my company BTLD Consulting Services as a Consultant, Speaker, and Trainer. I'm going to throw this out there... I LOVE MY JOB!!! I also love marketing, resident retention, and helping out people. I like pretty much everyone, my dog, my Alan, and have special fondness for eating honey straight from the comb and putting seasoned salt on popcorn or cottage cheese.
I also enjoy talking with anyone who has new perspectives, ideas or just wants to bounce some thoughts. Twitter me or IM me on AIM with Artchickhb. You can also email me at Heather@Behindtheleasingdesk.com with questions about BTLD Consulting Services, and to book me as a consultant or speaker for your company!

Student Housing Debacle at Seattle's UW University Dorms
I watched Fox News tonight. I'm not proud of it, but it came on and I couldn't resist the story they were offering up on student housing, which showed blatant stupidity on the part of the University of Washington's student housing department. I really hope someone will get very fired over this, and I rarely hope for people to get fired. Check out the video:

I don't know enough about the story or the policies of the University. However I could guess that: - they have a residence guarantee - otherwise it would be easier to turn away applicants than house them in lounges - late applicants were were likely given the option to move into a lounge and took it.
